ARC OF IRIS ENSEMBLE
"Mit anregender Lebendigkeit musizierten Arc of Iris ... (die Musiker:innen) überzeugten mit der ausgewogenen Mischung der Affekte und ihrer ansteckenden Spielfreude."
- Göttinger Tageblatt
"Sie bezauberten mit reichhaltigen Stimmungsspektrum, unbändiger Leichtigkeit, jubelndem Esprit und sprühender Lebensfreude."
- Donaukurier
Brought together by their love of early music, Arc of Iris tells stories of human emotions and experiences. Taking their name from Iris, the Greek goddess of color, the ensemble draws inspiration from the vibrant spectrum she represents, experimenting with tone color and musical structure as a means of expression that transcends language and written notes on a page. Just as Iris bridges the realms of gods and mortals, Arc of Iris seeks to connect the music of past centuries with contemporary experiences, transporting listeners into the emotional worlds of their protagonists. Their programs range from intimate duo performances for lute and voice to larger chamber music settings, offering a dynamic and evolving musical experience.

Founded in 2021, the young ensemble has already begun to make a name for itself with their infectious energy and musical creativity. In 2023, they won the audience prize, the Bärenreiter Urtext Prize, and the prize for best conceptual performance, "Musik und Raum," at the Göttinger Händel-Wettbewerb. They were also invited to present their program, ODYSSEY, at the 2023 Originalklang-Festival FEL!X in Köln. In 2024, they continued their competition success by winning second place and the audience prize at the Biagio Marini Wettbewerb.
